Bible Of the Day
“Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace"
The Cure of the bleeding Woman’s Sunday
Luke 8/40-52: "It happened, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him. 8:41 Behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet, and begged him to come into his house, 8:42 for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him. 8:43 A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians, and could not be healed by any, 8:44 came behind him, and touched the fringe of his cloak, and immediately the flow of her blood stopped. 8:45 Jesus said, “Who touched me?”  When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’” 8:46 But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.” 8:47 When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 8:48 He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”  8:49  While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.”  8:50 But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.” 8:51 When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother. 8:52 All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”  8:53 They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead. 8:54 But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!” 8:55 Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat. 8:56 Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done

Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians

7/116: “ Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 7:2 Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one. 7:3 I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together. 7:4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction. 7:5 For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside. 7:6 Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus; 7:7 and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced still more. 7:8 For though I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you sorry, though just for a while. 7:9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing. 7:10 For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death. 7:11 For behold, this same thing, that you were made sorry in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vengeance! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter. 7:12 So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God. 7:13 Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all. 7:14 For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth. 7:15 His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him. 7:16 I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you.

Ahmadinejad Maneuvering Hizbullah and Israel into War?
by Hana Levi Julian /Arutz Sheva
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is reportedly angling to start another war between Israel and the Lebanese Hizbullah terrorist group in order to deflect attention away from his own lack of popularity at home. Ahmadinejad has faced constant friction from grassroots opposition movements since last June, when lopsided election results re-electing the president raised red flags among suspicious voters, who suspected the government had rigged the polls.
“As Israel is beating the war drums four years after its humiliating military defeat against Hizbullah, many believe that Ahmadinejad might exploit another conflict between Israel and the militant group as a way of resolving his own lack of legitimacy inside Iran,” wrote Iran's Green Voice newspaper.
The publication, which represents the “green” anti-government protest movement in Iran, noted that many Hizbullah terrorists were involved in the violent post-presidential election crackdowns on protestors who demonstrated for weeks against the results. The newspaper identified as one example Hossein Manif Ashmar, a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard force that attacked the northern Tehran campaign office of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi on election day, June 12, 2009. The paper said Ashmar, who has been living in the country since the mid-1990s, also works at Hizbullah headquarters in Iran. Two of his brothers died as “shaheeds” (martyrs) – both as members of the Hizbullah terrorist group.
Infusion of Funds for Hizbullah Terrorists
The report also alleged that Hizbullah was the beneficiary of a gift of $400 million from its Iranian handlers last month during “Iran-Lebanon Friendship Week.”
The transaction allegedly took place through the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, according to Green Voice, which reported that the cultural event provided the cover for the funds transfer.
Mehrdad Bazrpash, adviser to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was the agent who carried out the transaction. Prior funds transfers to the terrorist group had apparently been sent through Iran's Saderat bank. According to the report, however, international sanctions have now blocked that channel – hence the personal trip by Bazrpash to the embassy in Lebanon.

Haaretz: Feltman Asked Syria to Stop Alleged Arms Transfers to Hizbullah
Naharnet/The U.S. administration has asked Syrian President Bashar Assad to immediately stop the alleged transfer of arms to Hizbullah, the Israeli daily Haaretz reported Sunday.
Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman made the request during a meeting Friday with the Syrian ambassador to Washington, Imad Mustafa, according to the newspaper. Haaretz said that the meeting also touched on last week's visit of Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns to Damascus.
The newspaper said that during Burns' meeting with Assad, the Syrian leader denied American claims that his regime was providing military aid to terrorists in Iraq or Hizbullah and Palestinian militants. A senior diplomatic source told Haaretz that one of the goals of the meeting between Feltman and Mustafa was to calm tensions between Syria and Israel. Beirut, 28 Feb 10, 09:40

Ethiopia Warns Lebanon against Releasing 'Misleading' Information to 'Make Political Gains'

Naharnet/The Ethiopian Transport Minister lashed out at Lebanese authorities for "releasing baseless information" on the Ethiopian plane that crashed upon take off from Beirut on January 25 to "make political gains." "The Ethiopian government asked the head of the International Civil Aviation Organization to interfere in the ongoing conflict," the minister said during a press conference. He accused the Lebanese government of "leaking wrong and misleading information" about the reasons behind the plane crash. Beirut has ruled out sabotage and said the plane crashed as a result of "human error." The minister said the official results of the investigation into the crash would be released only after all data of the plane's black boxes are analyzed.
Meanwhile, informed sources at the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority told pan-Arab daily al-Hayat that according to the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), Ethiopian Airlines should have given preferential treatment to families of the plane victims The sources said the IOSA program deals with issues such as the treatment of family members by airlines struck by disasters and incidents. On Saturday, 27 remains of Ethiopian victims were flown back to their home country. Among the bodies were those of the plane's pilot, his copilot and the security guard aboard the jet. Pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat said that U.S. legal firms are competing on taking the case of the victims' families to court and suing airplane manufacturer Boeing. Beirut, 28 Feb 10, 10:57

Ban Urges Israel to Withdraw from Ghajar, Calls for Resumption of National Dialogue

Naharnet/U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon described the situation on the Lebanese-Syrian border as "fragile" and urged Israel to withdraw from the Lebanese part of the border village of Ghajar.
In his 12th report on the implementation of U.N. Security Council resolution 1701, Ban said the Jewish state should pull out from Ghajar's northern part without procrastination and end its violations of Lebanese airspace. The U.N. secretary-general also expressed concern over the discovery of arms in UNIFIL's area of operations and reports about the flow of "illegitimate" weapons to southern Lebanon. Turning to Lebanese-Syrian ties, Ban said in his report that improvement in relations between the two neighbors, calls for progress on managing their common border and demarcating it. About arms outside the control of the state, the report noted that disarmament of militias should be carried out through a Lebanese political process.
Ban urged President Michel Suleiman to resume dialogue sessions on the country's national defense strategy "to reach national consensus" on the issue. The U.N. chief also called on Prime Minister Saad Hariri's government to implement decisions taken during dialogue sessions in 2006 and 2009 on the disarmament of Palestinian bases outside refugee camps.

Hizbullah Urges Tighter Measures at Beirut Airport amid Irish Concerns, British Reservations

Naharnet/The Lebanese General Security Department at Rafik Hariri International Airport has started to tighten security measures for European passengers arriving in Beirut in light of Hizbullah's official request from the Lebanese authorities to keep an eye on foreigners coming from countries whose passports were used in the operation of assassinating Hamas top official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai, the pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat cited well-informed Lebanese sources.
General Security Director Maj. Gen. Wafiq Jezzini told the newspaper that the general security is observing a circular of Jewish family names, noting that "when someone arrives in Lebanon with a foreign passport and a surname that indicates a Jewish origin, the border crossing points are sending the passenger's data to the central information office in the General Directorate of General Security that follows up on this person, especially that this person would have registered a temporary residence address in Lebanon."
"We are following up on the inbound passengers and the individuals who receive them at the airport," he added.
"There is another method which we can follow, and usually imply, that is to inspect or authenticate the birth place of the inbound passengers."
The newspaper noted that "no complaints from Irish or British nationals have been recorded so far about harassments upon arriving in Beirut." However, the British foreign ministry confirmed "it will examine the situation," adding that it would directly submit any complaints to the Lebanese government.
As to Ireland, it expressed its "deep concerns" against the new measures. An Irish foreign ministry spokesperson told the newspaper that "the issue now is the responsibility of the European Union," adding that a meeting for the foreign affairs council was held last Monday to discuss immunizing European passports.
He stressed that the EU will decide "step by step" the necessary decisions in this regard, noting that the council has already condemned the usage of forged European passports in murdering al-Mabhouh, describing the incident as "deeply worrying."
The spokesperson called for the cooperation of all concerned nations with the investigation opened by the Dubai police.
Twelve British, six Irish, four French, one German and three Australian passports were used by the suspects, according to Dubai police.
On the other hand, Hizbullah MP Hassan Fadlallah, who had previously raised the passports issue in the last parliamentary session, told Asharq al-Awsat that "Interior Minister Ziad Baroud submitted a written answer stressing that his ministry will take the necessary measures.""Lebanon has always been a target for Israeli security penetrations and the many operations that had taken place in the last years carried the Israeli fingerprints. Hence, the government has to take the necessary measures to preserve security and stability in the face of Israeli attempts," he added, noting that "many Israelis had previously managed to enter Lebanon with European and non-European passports." Adwan fears Lebanon becomes battlefield amid regional tensions

February 28, 2010 /Lebanon might once again be used as a battlefield given the tension in the region, said Lebanese Forces bloc MP George Adwan, following his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir in Bkirki on Sunday. This can be avoided if the Lebanese cabinet alone takes war and peace decisions, he said, “but this is not the case today, and a single Lebanese party taking decisions on behalf of all Lebanese is unacceptable.” Adwan touched on Thursday’s meeting between Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad, in Damascus, reiterating that the cabinet alone should decide on local and regional actions. He commented on the upcoming municipal elections, saying his party and the majority insist on holding the elections on time. “We are even willing to appeal a law that pertains to their postponement,” he said. -NOW Lebanon

Sami Gemayel: Hizbullah is not cooperating with FPM

Date: February 27th, 2010/Source: Al Watan Al Arabi
Kataeb MP Sami Gemayel said Saturday that Hizbullah is not cooperating with its Christian ally the Free Patriotic Movement. In an interview to Al Watan Al Arabi magazine that will be published next week, Gemayel considered that “some Christians adhere to arms disregarding the laws and are covering crimes under the pretext of balance.” Gemayel explained his claims by noting that the Shiite armed party did not take into consideration the concerns of the FPM led by MP Michel Aoun regarding lowering electoral age to 18. “Hizbullah and his allies would deal in the same way with similar issues that concern Christians so we would have legitimized dangerous arms,” he added. The lawmaker asserted that “Hizbullah decides whether to go to dialogue or to stay above everybody and take decisions on their behalf,” although experiences in Lebanon “taught us that no one can govern alone.” MP Gemayel accused Hizbullah of trying to breach the Christian culture, and gave the example of “what happened in Sagesse School that is a condemned and refused issue as we called FPM officials and expressed our opinion.”
Discussions over this issue with FPM officials, according to Gemayel, are faced by silence “while many other issues require the cooperation of all Christian sides in spite of their relation with Syria and with Hizbullah’s arsenal like lowering the electoral age and the nationalization of Palestinians. As for his position in the March 14 coalition, Gemayel asserted that “the Kataeb Party is an essential part and one of the founders of the alliance and I am not trying to withdraw the party from the coalition but to introduce reforms among its sides.” “Changing or amending the principles of the March 14 alliance is not required instead we should commit to these principles to build a State,” the Kataeb official said. MP Gemayel hailed the position of Prime Minister Saad Hariri concerning lowering the electoral age as well as his stance after his visit to the Vatican, although Gemayel recalled the objection of the Kataeb Party vis-à-vis its representation in the Cabinet and on the ministerial statement article concerning the resistance arsenal.

MEMRI: Glorification of Martyrdom on Lebanon's Al-Quds TV Children's Show

Glorification of Martyrdom on Lebanon's Al-Quds TV Children's Show: All Palestinians Suckle the Use of the Gun with Their Mother's Milk
On December 27, 2009, a show on the Lebanese Al-Quds TV channel featured a storyteller recounting tales of martyrdom to a studio audience of children, some of whom are seen holding guns (it is unclear if they are toys or are real). The hero of the story is Isma'il, a young boy who is killed by a "Jewish sniper" in a battle with "Zionist gangs that invaded [Palestinian]
cities and villages, killing the young and the elderly." Isma'il held his "beautiful new gun" firmly and said: "Let's show those lowlifes what heroes we are." Martyrdom is depicted as a thing of beauty; when Isma'il died, "the smile on his face was more beautiful than the moon. His eyes were full of tears, and his face was beautiful - more beautiful than in any game they
played as children."
Storyteller Abu Saleh told the enrapt children: "There is not a single Palestinian village or city whose people do not know how to use a gun. Why? Because they have suckled this with their mother's milk." When playing cops and robbers, he said, Isma'il loved to play the cop, because "he knew he would be one of the defenders of his land."
After the story, some of the children in the studio expressed their identification with Isma'il. One said: "I am just like Isma'il. I am not a coward. I am strong. I want to die with a gun in my hand," and another exclaimed: "I like Isma'il a lot. I want to be just like him."

Isma'il Was a Real Hero Because He Killed More Than 10 Zionists
Storyteller: "Once upon a time, when the bullets were flying all over the village, and the Zionist gangs were destroying everything, invading cities and villages, killing the young and the elderly, Muhammad and the guys were hiding. There was a heavy exchange of fire. Between whom? Between people wearing masks - nobody knew who they were - and the accursed Zionists. One side was shooting at the other, and the whole village was ablaze.
"Everybody was afraid, and people were yelling: 'Stop! The house of the mukhtar is on fire!' Everybody started screaming and crying, and the men didn't know what to do."After a few moments, a group of masked men came down from the roof of the house of the mukhtar. Two of them opened the back door, which led to the garden, and they took the women, the children, and the elderly out. Two other masked men continued shooting at the Jews through the window.
"Everyone started running under the cover of those masked men, until they reached Sheik Nuh in the mosque. What did they see there? They saw Sheik Nuh giving guns to the masked men, saying to them: 'Allah be with you, men! Defend your country and your honor! Don't let any Jew be happy! Attack them, men!'
"Muhammad saw his friend Isma'il among the men. Isma'il was as happy as if it was his wedding night. He held the gun firmly - a beautiful new gun.
Muhammad approached him and said: 'I see that you are happy, Isma'il.' 'Of course I am. Let's show those lowlifes what heroes we are. Let's go,
Muhammad!'"
Child: "Did Muhammad know how to use a gun?"
Storyteller: "My dear children, there is not a single Palestinian village or city whose people do not know how to use a gun. Why? Because they have
suckled this with their mother's milk. Do you know why else?"
Child: "Why?"
Storyteller: "I'll tell you why. When your land is occupied, when the honor of your women is in danger, when your home can be stolen from you any day - you must know how to protect your honor, your land, and your home. Of course, all these men knew how to use guns, but Isma'il was different. He was a real hero. Why? Because that day, he killed more than ten occupying bandits from among the Zionists.
"He proved that he was a very strong cop. That's why, when he was a child and used to play with other children, he had something special about him. He refused to play the role of the robber. He insisted on playing the cop. He loved playing the cop because he knew himself, and he knew he would be one of the defenders of his land.
"The young men continued shooting at the Jewish gangs until they drove them out of the village. The Jewish gangs started dispersing in all directions, like roaches or rabbits. But one of them stayed behind, sitting on a little hill. Who was he? He was a sniper. He fired a shot from a distance, and the
bullet hit Isma'il.
[...]
"Isma'il was martyred before Muhammad's eyes. The smile on his face was more beautiful than the moon. His eyes were full of tears, and his face was beautiful - more beautiful than in any game they played as children. Why? Because Isma'il was not a coward. By no means. He was strong.
"Even when he was martyred, he was strong. His gun was in his hands - the gun that he loved so much. He clasped it so tightly that his friends could
not remove it from his grasp. The gun remained in his hand, and they had to bury Isma'il with it."
Child: "I Want to Die with a Gun in My Hand"
Child: "I am just like Isma'il. I am not a coward. I am strong. I want to die with a gun in my hand."
Storyteller: "May Allah bless you, my son, Firas. No one brought up in Palestine is a coward. Palestine has taught us the meaning of power - of power, of mercy, of feelings, and of sacrifice. Palestine taught us to be men, even when we were children."
Child: "Did this story really happen, Abu Saleh?"
Storyteller: "Of course my son, 'Alaa. It happened to everybody - to me, your father, your grandfather. To the fathers and grandfathers of all of you."
[...]Child: "Abu Saleh, I like Isma'il a lot. I want to be just like him."
Storyteller: "You are not the only one, my son, Musa. All the Palestinian youth want to be like Isma'il, but you must understand that some must remain
in order to carry the banner. Some are martyred, and others continue [the struggle].
"Therefore, we will keep our heads high, and keep the name Palestine engraved in our minds and our hearts: P-A-L-E-S-T-I-N-E."
Children (chanting in unison): "Palestine! Palestine! Palestine!"For assistance, please contact MEMRI at memri@memri.org.

Despite the ambiguity in Israel over who killed Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai last month, Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said on Sunday that "the Mabhouh assassination was not a failure. I don't know who did it, I am addressing the results."
On an Army Radio broadcast, the industry, trade and labor minister said, "I don't know if it was us or not us."
Israeli Entanglement
Britain probes Israelis over Dubai killing / AFP
Spokesman for British Embassy in Tel Aviv says two of its police officers are in Israel to meet six dual nationals whose British passports were used by Hamas figure's assassins
Ben-Eliezer said the assassination brought with it deterrence: "The question is, what was this man's value, and what this achieved. Assuming that he was of great value, the organization knows one thing – there is no one who can't be caught up with or that can't be reached. For me, this is deterrence."
Former IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz has also recently praised the deterrence achieved by the assassination: "Anyone like Mabhouh should think twice before acting."
The minister also slammed criticism of the act directed at the Mossad by foreign sources: "If you ask my opinion, contrary to all the voices being heard recently in criticism – What is there to criticize here? Right now all I care about out of this whole tsunami is that I see only one simple thing here. Whether he is alive or dead. And the result is clear."
Ben-Eliezer was careful not to tie Israel to the hit: "I won't get into arguments of whether it was intelligence agents or not. Why get into that? After all, the important thing is to see what remains in their memory, and the result was immediately translated, since Nasrallah wore a wig when he travelled to Damascus, meaning he understands that he is being watched, and this is what matters."

Spokesman for British Embassy in Tel Aviv says two of its police officers are in Israel to meet six dual nationals whose British passports were used by Hamas figure's assassins
Most suspects linked to the murder of a senior Hamas figure are in Israel, Dubai police said Saturday as their British counterparts were in the Jewish state to probe the killers' use of fake passports. Skip related content
Dubai police chief Dahi Khalfan pointed the finger at Meir Dagan, the head of Israel's secret service Mossad which is widely suspected of carrying out last month's Cold War-style hit on Mahmud al-Mabhouh in his Dubai hotel room.

Khalfan's force has published details of 26 suspects together with passport photographs, and has revealed it has DNA proof of the identity at least one of the killers.
"What is sure right now is that the majority of the murderers whose names have been announced... are to be found in Israel," he said in comments published in the Arabic-language daily al-Khaleej.
"Dagan and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will head the list (of an international arrest warrant) if it is proven that Mossad is behind the murder," the police chief said.
Khalfan said Dubai police had succeeded in identifying the suspects from closed circuit television footage, even though some of the suspects wore wigs during the operation.
Israel has sought to play down the row, saying there is no evidence of its involvement. It has rejected the calls for Dagan's arrest as "baseless" and "absurd."
A spokesman for the British embassy in Tel Aviv said meanwhile that two of its police officers were in Israel to investigate the use of fake British passports by Mabhouh's killers.
"Two British police officers arrived a few days ago to interview British passport holders on the use of false passports" bearing their identities in the case, Rafi Shamir told AFP on Saturday.
The officers were preparing to meet six dual nationals whose British passports were used in the assassination, Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency said.
"We are arranging to speak to the six genuine passport holders who are resident in Israel as potential witnesses to a crime," Britain's Press Association news agency quoted a SOCA spokesman as saying.
Australia unsatisfied with explanation
The murder of Mabhouh, regarded by Israel as a key link in a weapons smuggling chain into the Gaza Strip that is controlled by the Islamist movement Hamas, has mounted international pressure on Israel.
Twelve British, six Irish, four French, one German and three Australian passports were used by the suspects, according to Dubai police.
The revelation of stolen identities being used by suspected Israeli agents has caused a diplomatic outcry, with Australia threatening it would "not be silent on the matter."
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said on Saturday his centre-left government had an "absolutely hard line" on defending the integrity of its passport system and took seriously allegations that suspected Mossad assassins had stolen Australian identities.
"That is why the foreign minister has called in the Israeli ambassador and asked for an explanation," Rudd told reporters.
"Thus far we are not satisfied with that explanation."
Canberra summoned Ambassador Yuval Rotem on Thursday and warned that friendly ties were at risk if Israel was found to have sponsored or condoned the tampering of three Australian passports, linked to the Dubai killing.
The Israel-based Australians caught in the passport scandal – Joshua Daniel Bruce, Nicole Sandra McCabe and Adam Korman – were among 15 named in connection with the murder of Mabhuh. The real McCabe, a 27-year-old mother to be who has lived in Israel for two and a half years, said she first learned of her passport's link to the crime from a radio news bulletin.
"I have no idea how they got hold of my passport. Obviously it's not my photo," she told the Daily Telegraph newspaper. "I don't know any of these people, I don't know the other Australians." "I'm terrified, I haven't slept and I'm shaky. I'm worried for my health and I'm worried for my baby's health," she added.
Israeli ambassadors in four European countries have been summoned for talks and the European Union has also voiced outrage over the use of fake passports after an earlier list of 11 people was released.

Mabhouh Killing/Much talk, little fact
At the end of the day, we don’t really know what happened in Dubai

Almost a month has passed since the assassination of Hamas man Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai, and soon we shall find out that only three Israelis were not connected to this operation, and only because they happened to be sick with the swine flu at the time. However, the criticism expressed here is not directed at the people who carried out the operation, but rather, at the journalists and commentators who cover it. At junctions where there is no information or leaks and where reality is much greater than fiction, every commentator is king.
Everyone knows what he’s talking about and everyone has something to say. And now try to prove they’re wrong. So let’s admit it: We have no idea how it works; we have no idea what was planned, who carried it out, and what exactly took place in Dubai. We have no idea why the photos of the operatives were exposed and what it means.
Indeed, the days where we adored everything that our security forces did and believed they cannot do wrong or fail are long gone, yet we cannot have a situation whereby everyone explains the supposed screw-ups from their living room sofas.
Dagan suffered injustice
Today one is not allowed to say anything positive, because if you say something like that, you immediately turn into a public relations agent. Even when the world will be forgetting the protests over the utilization of foreign passports, we will continue to disparage, criticize, and raise an eyebrow.
A person who is intimately familiar with these types of operations said this week that 80% of what had been published is nothing like what happened in reality. He said that the operatives who were “burned” and the elements that were uncovered are not the important things. What’s important, he said, is that the operation was undertaken under difficult conditions, the main objective had been reached, and everyone returned back home safely. A great injustice had been done here mostly to Mossad Director Meir Dagan, said the man, who is also just another commentator. If everything Dagan did will be released for publication in 100 years, he said, everyone will have to rise from their graves, go over to Dagan’s grave, and ask for his forgiveness. And now, let’s all just raise an eyebrow.
