Bible Quotation for today/Eternal Life
01 John 05/13-21: "I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have eternal life—you that believe in the Son of God. We have courage in God's presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will. He hears us whenever we ask him; and since we know this is true, we know also that he gives us what we ask from him. If you see a believer commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray to God, who will give that person life. This applies to those whose sins do not lead to death. But there is sin which leads to death, and I do not say that you should pray to God about that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which does not lead to death. We know that no children of God keep on sinning, for the Son of God keeps them safe, and the Evil One cannot harm them. We know that we belong to God even though the whole world is under the rule of the Evil One.
We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we know the true God. We live in union with the true God—in union with his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and this is eternal life. My children, keep yourselves safe from false gods!

Baragwanath Holds Talks with Suleiman, Miqati
إNaharnet/ 02 April 2012, 08:25
President of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon Judge Sir David Baragwanath held talks on Monday with President Michel Suleiman and Prime Minister Najib Miqati separately as he is expected to meet with several other senior Lebanese officials.
The National News Agency reported that Suleiman discussed with Baragwanath at the Baabda Palace the progress of the STL’s work and the previous indictments it had issued.
Baragwanath left the Grand Serail without making any statement after a 30-minute meeting with Miqati.
Baragwanath arrived in Lebanon on Sunday night from Frankfurt.
Al-Akhbar newspaper reported in March that the STL president will seek to ink a “memorandum of understanding” with the heads of the Bar Associations in Beirut and Tripoli.
He wants to allow the families of the victims of the assassination of ex-PM Rafik Hariri, who are included in the first indictment issued by the STL and the expected one, to appoint the attorneys that they want during the proceedings of the trial.
Baragwanath was elected STL President after Judge Antonio Cassese stepped down in October 2011 on health grounds. Cassese later passed away.
The tribunal, set up by the U.N. Security Council at the request of a past Lebanese government to try those responsible for the assassination of Hariri in 2005, announced in February that it will put four Hizbullah members on trial even though they have not yet been detained.
Arrest warrants have been issued for the four members -- Salim Ayyash, Mustafa Badreddine, Hussein Oneissi and Assad Sabra.

Saddam Returns
By Emad El Din Adeeb/Asharq Alawsat
Throughout my life I have always opposed the ideas of the Syrian and Iraqi Baath parties, and I will continue to do so.
Throughout my life I have always viewed the reign of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein as an example of despotism, injustice and terror, protecting the corrupt and consecrating dictatorship.
I apologize for such an introduction, but I am obliged to make such statements in order not to be misunderstood when I sorrowfully say "God bless the days of Saddam Hussein”, compared to Iraq’s circumstances today!
[Paul] Bremer and the US invasion troops were successful in fulfilling three objectives in Iraq, which no one could ever imagine would have happened under the rule of Saddam the tyrant:
Firstly, Iraq, one of the oldest and most important countries in the world throughout history, has been dismantled, and is now practically divided into three minor states: the Kurdish, Sunni and Shiite regions.
Secondly, the country – backed by American funding estimated at US$ 1.5 trillion – has been handed over to the Iranian sphere of influence, to the extent that the number of Iranian Revolutionary Guards now present in Iraq amounts to 200,000 armed troops. This is in addition to the fact that some government correspondence in the capital Baghdad is now written in both Persian and Kurdish!
Thirdly, Iraq's security is running out of control, and the state has shifted into a major power center for extremist Islamic currents that threaten national and regional security, most prominently al-Qaeda.
The deafening explosions that occurred a few days before the date of the Arab Summit in Baghdad emphasize the dangerous situation. There were further explosions on the same day of the summit, to stress that Iraqi security control – despite being on high alert – is still unable to provide a safe environment.
The latest black comedy to emerge is that of the Iraqi authorities' now want to move the late President Saddam Hussein's corpse from his grave - because of the numerous visits and crowds gathering nearby– to an unknown or remote place. This however, has provoked the anger of the former president’s adherers, as well as his family.
The significance of this piece of new is that the executed tyrant has now become more popular than the new regime, which came aboard an American tank carrying the slogan of Western democracy!
If this is change the American way, then what follows is truly frightening.

Syria: the time for serious action has arrived
By Tariq Alhomayed
Asharq Al-Awsat
Today we can say that the moment of serious international action has been launched from Istanbul, in order to put an end to a terrible phase in our region’s history, specifically the regime of Bashar al-Assad. The “Friends of Syria” conference yesterday resembles a starting point to respond to the crimes of al-Assad and his forces, and likewise it is a clear message stressing the inevitable departure of the Syrian President.
Yesterday the Istanbul conference, with representatives from over 80 states, completely denounced the legitimacy of the al-Assad regime, whilst recognizing the Syrian National Council (SNC) as the sole representative of the Syrian people. The SNC immediately took the initiative to pledge to provide salaries for the Free Syrian Army (FSA), thus implying that it had achieved financial support. The other significant matter is that the Friends of Syria conference has demanded a specific timeline for [UN-Arab League peace envoy] Kofi Annan’s mission, so that it does not become an open-ended exercise. This in itself is a real slap in the face for the al-Assad regime that boasted by saying that there was no value in Annan’s mission, and that the regime had achieved victory on the ground; words that were reiterated by the regime’s henchmen, whether Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon or Jihad al-Maqdisi, the Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman.
Yesterday we heard Hillary Clinton say that al-Assad must step down, and we heard Recep Tayyip Erdoğan state that Turkey would not accept any plan that allows al-Assad to remain in power. The importance of the Turkish Prime Minister’s words in particular lies in the fact that he did not only say so publicly, but he also said the same [on his state visit] to Tehran. He did not hear any threats from the Iranians in response, but rather Iran replied by saying: “Well…who is the alternative to al-Assad?” This means that Tehran is now well aware that the al-Assad era is over.
Of course, these are all important messages that those around Bashar al-Assad will understand better than the President himself, who it is clear has become detached from reality. My own information indicates that the conference will conclude with the activation of a special action group to monitor Syrian affairs, a group that was decided upon at the Friends of Syria conference in Tunisia, which I wrote about at the time. This means that there will now be a special operations room, meaning that the coming movements will be specific, clear and very effective, designed to serve the interests of the rebels on the ground in all forms. When America says that it will support the rebels with communications technology rather than weapons, this is just as important, because this will help fight against the al-Assad regime that uses Iranian devices to limit the rebels communication ability and their movements.
Immediate action will also be undertaken by this special action group to reach out to both China and Russia, and this is important whatever Moscow’s current stance. Likewise, the conference will likely conclude with the formation of a “trust fund” to support the Syrians, with each state providing what it deems appropriate, which means that the door has now been opened for “effective” support.
Therefore it can be said that the Istanbul conference has been a success, and resembles a genuine slap in the face in response to the al-Assad regime’s recent bravado. It also means that the moment of serious action has been launched from Istanbul in order for the Syrians, and the region, to get rid of this criminal regime.
Now we will wait for concrete action

West interested in dialogue with Islamists: EU sources
April 02, 2012 01:14 AM By Antoine Ghattas Saab The Daily Star
According to a high-ranking French diplomat, Syrian President Bashar Assad’s visit to Baba Amr, the former rebel stronghold in Homs that was recently taken by regime forces, points to the start of a new stage in the Syrian conflict. In this phase, great powers may reconsider their calculations of the regime’s staying power, especially given that it has eliminated many armed anti-regime pockets.
The diplomat denied rumors that the French administration was opening communication with Assad and reconsidering its estimations on Syria, saying this would not happen as long as Assad did not translate his verbal commitment to U.N. envoy Kofi Annan’s peace plan into action. To do this he would have to cease violence, withdraw his troops from heavily populated areas and increase the speed with which he releases detainees.
Confirming France’s interest in seeing Syria move to democracy, the diplomat addressed Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea’s call regarding the victories of Islamist parties in the Arab Spring to “let the Muslim brotherhood rule.” The diplomat said Geagea’s remark has moved from a slogan to a reality that is now being supported by states involved in the Arab Spring.
European sources spoke to The Daily Star about a similar subject – the West’s interest in opening serious dialogue with Islamist groups both in countries that have won elections and in countries still revolting.
The sources said the Vatican had shown signs of encouraging this path, and its officials had met with delegations from Islamist parties. Most recently, it met with the head of Tunisia’s Ennahda party, Rached Ghannouchi, and spoke with him at a seminar organized by a Rome-based think tank.
These sources were surprised at what they called the “isolation” of some Christian groups from their Arab and Muslim surroundings, at a time when European emissaries were preparing for conferences in the Middle East with the aim of opening Christian-Islamic dialogue. Lebanon will likely play host to one of these meetings.
Sources say Italy, in coordination with the Vatican, will most likely send its minister for international cooperation and integration, Andrea Ricardi, to participate in these talks. The Daily Star has learned that whoever he or she is, the Italian delegate will present the Italian view that democracy and ensuring the protection of minorities are the truly effective methods for fighting terrorism.
The same European sources noted that Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai’s opinions have not been in harmony with those of Western states.
“The patriarch speaks about a dictatorship in Syria, and that the people have suffered from it,” one of the sources said. But no one comments on this, the source added, instead accusing the patriarch of defending the Syrian regime when he cautions against the possibility that chaos in Syria will negatively affect Lebanon.

Anthony Martin/Conservative Examiner
Two separate investigations into the New Black Panthers have been conducted this month, one in response to charges of homegrown terrorism and the other in response to the group's placing a bounty on the head of George Zimmerman, the alleged shooter of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.
The results of the twofold probe, one of which was released yesterday, reveals New Black Panther ties to the Middle East terrorist group Hezbollah. Congressman Peter King, R-NY, has been investigating Hezbollah's activities within the United States as part of a Congressional probe into homegrown terrorism. King is Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. Part of the results of his investigation can be read here.
On the heels of King's report came another significant development yesterday as a researcher who works with retired General Paul Vallely, a former Fox News analyst, issued a separate report, published here, which exposes significant collaboration between Hezbollah and the New Black Panthers.
The report states,
The springboard of Hezbollah has bearing with regard to the deep ties to people within the Black Panthers Party and the New Black Panther Party and their later affiliation with terror organizations such as Hezbollah. It is important to understand that while there are two distinct names, the doctrine, and the mission and in many cases the same people have been carried over by name and relationships over the years. The Black Panthers, like the New Black Panthers Party, have a Marxist doctrine and have merged much of the common objectives and like minded attitudes to Islam.
David Horowitz of Front Page Magazine and Discover the Networks has provided further in depth information on Hezbollah, the Black Panthers, and the New Black Panthers here, here, and here.
The central issue that can be gleaned from the various probes into the connections between the New Black Panthers and Hezbollah is the failure on the part of Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice to hold these groups accountable for their actions, the latest of which is the bounty placed on the head of George Zimmerman.
Holder had previously dropped the charges of felony voter intimidation against the New Black Panthers in a case that drew national scrutiny in 2008 when members of the group were videotaped swinging clubs and billy sticks at voters outside a polling place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
When the history of the New Black Panthers, the Black Panthers, Hezbollah, the Nation of Islam, and high profile members of the Obama Administration are considered within the broad spectrum of long standing connections, advocacy, and legal maneuvering, many observers contend that it is not difficult to understand why Holder would be quick to drop the charges against the New Black Panthers in the voter intimidation case.
It would also explain, say critics, why Holder has failed to launch an investigation into the group's statements and activities in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting in Florida.
Holder, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and others within this exclusive circle such as Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates all share a common long standing history of close associations with dubious figures in the underground movement involving Black Muslims, the New Black Panthers, the Nation of Islam, the Black Panther Party, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
The names of major figures within this underground movement invariably come to the surface when delving into the background of Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Professor Gates, and others involved in the darker side of left wing politics--Eldridge Cleaver, H. Rap Brown, Malik Shabazz, Abdul Alim Musa, Khalid Abdul Muhammad, Carlos Torres, and Marilyn Buck.
The latter two, Torres and Buck, were recently released from federal prison after Holder quietly implemented a policy of granting freedom to terrorists. Buck had been a member of the Weathermen along with Obama associates Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, and had participated in homegrown terror during the 1960s and 70s. She had also maintained membership in the Black Liberation Army and the Black Panthers.
As this report from Yahoo News shows, the reasons the DOJ provided for the release of Buck from prison drew sharp criticism from those familiar with the case.

Terrorism associate convicted in New York for attempt to aid Hezbollah

Patrick Nayyar, a citizen of India and an illegal alien living in New York City, was found guilty Thursday in a Manhattan federal courtroom of five counts related to support he attempted to provide Hezbollah, a radical Islamic group designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State and Treasury Departments. Nayyar. 48, was convicted after a seven-day jury trial before U.S. District Judge Robert W. Sweet, who will pronounce sentence on September 25, 2012.Between July 2009 and September 2009, Nayyar and his co-conspirator, Conrad Stanisclaus Mulholland, agreed to provide weapons, ammunition, and vehicles to Hezbollah, the Lebanese-based terror group tied to the Iranian government. During a series of meetings with a confidential informant secretly working with the FBI, who claimed he was able to deliver materials to Hezbollah, Nayyar and Mulholland agreed to sell guns, ammunition, vehicles, bulletproof vests, and night vision goggles to the FBI's confidential informant, according to the indictment.  In total, Nayyar faces a maximum sentence of 75 years in prison. His co-conspirator, Mulholland, 45, who is not a citizen of the U.S. and resides abroad, left the U.S. before charges were filed and remains at large. Earlier this year, the Committee on Homeland Security’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence held a hearing entitled “Hezbollah in Latin America – Implications for U.S. Homeland Security.”  Iran and its proxy group Hezbollah continue to expand their presence in Central and South American taking advantage of their already close relationship with Venezuela’s despot Presidente Hugo Chavez, according to Rep. Patrick Meehan (R-PA), the committee’s chairman. There have also been intelligence reports that allege the Iranian-supported terrorist group Hezbollah, is also a dangerous presence in other Latin American nations. The ties between the two countries are based on several shared interests, such as access to military and petroleum technologies and avoiding international isolation, according the Meehan-led hearing.

Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird Represents Canada at 'Friends of Syria' Meeting

April 1, 2012 - Istanbul, Turkey - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird joined his counterparts from like-minded countries to address the deepening humanitarian crisis in Syria.
Baird announced a further $8.5-million for humanitarian aid and opposition assistance. In response to the ongoing violence in Syria, Canada this week imposed additional sanctions to further isolate Assad and those closest to him. The Friends of Syria group is a show of solidarity by the international community with the people of Syria in the face of months of deadly violence by the regime toward innocent Syrian civilians.

Obama's legacy can be summed-up in one sentence "Protect America's Enemies"
Farid Ghadry Blog/Reform Party of Syria
"Under Obama's policies in Egypt, even the stray dogs of Cairo will not be spared. Can anyone tell Sasha how the Islamists oppress puppies and maybe she can change her daddy's mind about those scoundrels"
A conference for "Friends of Syria" or "Friends of the Syrian People", which is yet another spin on top of the earlier spin, is being held in Istanbul. In attendance are the various Syrian opposition groups. The Kurds were not invited and neither was the political organization I co-founded.
At least, the name is not "Democratic Friends of Syria" because that would have been offensive to me.
Why is the conference being held today? What are the compelling reasons to continue throwing the Syrian opposition a bone when the White House has already made-up its mind with regard to Kofi Annan's plan aimed at keeping Assad ruling over Syrians the way the maniac in Sudan continue ruling over his people with violence and tyranny?
Here is a theory. The White House, having refused to arm the Free Syrian Army the way it helped the Libyan rebels, wants to blame the Syrian opposition for its plan. If we meet and disagree, Obama's fingers will be pointed at us. The split is mostly due to those who seek an accommodation with Assad (SNC) and those who seek his removal (FSA), which has been clearly highlighted in this meeting.
Nothing good, since this US administration ascended to power, has happened to our people and the people of the region. Correct me if I am wrong exploring these problems with an appropriate solution:
Problem: The Syrian people are being fed to the wolves.
Solution: Maybe a major oil installation breaks down in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia that will turn gas prices into a $6 a gallon in the US. If Obama loses this election, the Syrian and the Iranian regimes will also and the Americans will be the ultimate winners.
Problem: The Lebanese people were hopeful to be free from Assad but now are enraged and fearful because they may possibly see in the horizon the Assad machine of terror and his dark shadow of violence.
Solution: They have no choice but to send their arms to the Syrian Rebels to fight Assad. Apathy on their behalf will spell doom. Assad is still extremely weak and we can still finish him off with weapons. This US administration is exiting the region and it has no right to tell anyone anything.
Problem: The Egyptians have been handed to the Islamists with a clear agenda of striking fear into the Copts and the Israelis. Under Obama's policies in Egypt, even the stray dogs of Cairo will not be spared.
Solution: Can anyone tell Sasha how the Islamists oppress puppies and maybe she can change her daddy's mind about those scoundrels?
Problem: The Jordanians, seemingly protected by a visible US administration in the past, will also find themselves alone and at the receiving end of Assad's violence with his deformed DNA.
Solution: Arm the Syrian opposition. It's about Jordanian future and not this administration. Spoil Obama's policies of appeasing your enemies.
Problem: The Israelis will not be spared either. More flotillas, more flying saucers, and more marches by all those brain-dead children of the Assad and the Iranian regimes. Not to mention the naïveté of an administration unable to control the Iranian nuclear program when on the grounds in the region but somehow believes it can 10,000 miles away.
Solution: Time for US Congress and the American people who support Israel to the tune of 71% to act (Latest Gallup poll with regard to broad American support for Israel)..
Problem: The Iranian people were hopeful the Syrian Revolution will eventually reach them but now have nothing to look forward to except the tyranny of Khameini.
Solution: Stay hopeful. We both will prevail.
Problem: Erdogan is going along with Obama's policies because he can spread Islamism in Syria easier than through the ballot and because he is an anti-Semite parading as a pro-Palestinian.
Solution: Time for a Facebook anti-Erdogan Turkish revolution. Let him make the mistake of arresting students.
The Obama time is tyranny time for tens of millions of people in the region, including the minorities. Tyranny by Islamists in Egypt, tyranny by men of utter violence in Syria and Iran, and tyranny against the Lebanese and Israelis who are destined to live under constant fear because Obama cannot bother to protect America's real allies and friends.
In fact, Obama's legacy can be summed-up in one sentence
"Protect America's Enemies".
All of these miseries so that Obama wins another election. I wonder if Secretary Clinton would have acted differently had she been the President? Her policies today may very well be really the President's policies and one would never know what hers would have been.
After all, President Bill Clinton was courageous enough to help bring Milosevic to trial using a carpet bombing campaign for 78 straight days against his regime of terror. Obama does not seem too ken on protecting people from violence or bringing justice against men of extreme violence willing to kill children and women at will.
Obama motto is more like "Live and let the others suffer and die".

More Evidence of Egyptian Police Stripping Women Naked?
by Raymond Ibrahim/Jihad Watch
http://www.meforum.org/3202/egyptian-police-stripping-women
We all remember the international uproar that erupted when, during a clash between police and protesters in Egypt, the former beat and partially stripped to her bra a female protester (subsequently known as the "Blue Bra Woman").
An older video which purports to show an Egyptian officer ordering a woman to take off all her clothes, is even worse, and has sparked new debate. For the stripping is not a product of haste, blind-rage, or chaos—as apologists for the Blue Bra Woman incident argue—but is deliberate, methodical, and sadistic.
According to a new report appearing yesterday on El Bashayer, Mohsin Bahsani, president of an Egyptian organization called Legal Assistance for Human Rights, has brought this video to the spotlight, saying he is preparing to submit a formal complaint to the Attorney General, asking for legal action to be taken, including identifying the perpetrators.
The video was earlier aired on the popular Egyptian program "90 Minutes" (click here; clip appears from around minute 1:45 to minute 4). It appears to be taped inside an apartment, where a man, dressed like an officer, threatens and slaps a woman around, bullying her to take off all her clothes. He constantly commands her to "strip" and orders the others in the room to keep the door closed.
First he gives her a hard, swift slap across the face when she refuses to take off her top; then she takes it off but he orders her to take her bra off as well. After protesting, she complies, but then covers her face for shame, all while sobbing; he yells at her not to cover her face and gives her another hard slap. Then he resumes ordering her to continue stripping, i.e., take her pants—and presumably underwear, based on precedent—off. The video then cuts off.
The focus of 90 Minutes was whether this video is authentic and whether it can be proven that the man is a police officer. One of the guests, a journalist, seemed sure, pointing out that the man was wearing a holster with a gun in it (in Egypt, only officers are permitted to carry firearms). Likewise, the woman initially objected to being forced to strip naked, arguing "Are you going to drag me outside naked?" implying that she was being arrested and taken into custody; and after she takes her bra off, as the man orders her to continue stripping and she refuses, he threatens by saying, "Okay, off we go to the ministry [of justice]," again, suggesting he is an officer making an arrest.
The one main oddity of the video is that, towards the end of the clip, someone in the apartment leaps in front of the camera making a goofy face. Though one might argue that this takes away from the seriousness, and thus authenticity, of the situation, in fact, the counter argument can be made—that the jumping fool actually further demonstrates the authenticity of the video: If those making the tape were intentionally trying to frame Egypt's police force—which the host of 90 Minutes offered as a possibility—surely they would not compromise their efforts by such a silly stunt in front of the camera.
A more likely interpretation is that the man is, in fact, an officer, who is at the apartment of friends or family, where he is doing them a "favor"— abusing his authority, "flexing his muscle" as it were, against this woman whom his buddies, for whatever reason, have targeted as needing to be threatened, shaken down, and shamed—all while some in the apartment goof around, apparently because such spectacles are not out of the ordinary.
Incidentally, this video was taken when Hosni Mubarak was in power, before the Revolution—a reminder that brutality by authority figures in Islamic Egypt is not a product of this or that regime, but of culture; a reminder that the beating and stripping of the Blue-Bra woman, which caused much international outrage, may well be the tip of the iceberg.
