Fighting terror - War without borders!?

We all watched in awe on television the human bomb a boy in his early teens, lost his nerve, broke down and pleaded with Israelis soldiers guarding a check point to save him. The soldiers kept their nerves and used a robot to cut him free from the 8 kilograms of explosives strapped to his body ANYONE who will doubts the appealing lengths Islamic terrorists will go to achieve their evils ends should check the news coverage of the failed suicide bombers in the West Bank last week... If the whole incident had not been filmed by a passing Palestinian cameraman who works for a press agency, cynics would be dismissing it as a stunt organized by the Israeli and why not the whole Arab nations pins everything happened on "the Jews" Israelis. The only thing that makes this latest attempted more grotesque then usual is the fact the bomber was so young, the corruption in the souls of terrorists commanders who sacrifice the lives of young children while they, and their own children, stay safe beggars belief. It’s an awfully routine part of life in the Middle East. Suicide bombers are generally young men, although a new tactic favored by Palestinian terrorists is to bully young women into blowing themselves up, on the promise that by dying they will atone for their so-called sexual infidelities.

It takes an extraordinarily brutal commitment to a cause be the destruction of Israel or the independence of Chechnya and the disruption of Iraqi lives to use suicide bombings as a standard strategy. But it’s what nations around the world, US, European including Australia, must understand what they also face. The number of 88 Australians and other innocents in Bali, Manhattan, Iraq, Israel, Moscow, Madrid and in numbers of Muslim cities around the world demonstrate that ordinary people everywhere are at risk in the war on terror. And beyond breaking up the terror cells and capturing and killing their commanders!

Yes, the target assassination of an assassin is a justified cause in order to save innocent civilian caught in the crossfire of the war on terror.

To remedy society of the evil amongst us once and for all that’s a hypothetical probability. On the other hand, to fight evil it’s every persons duty to protect the innocent civilian and our way of life, for the fact that our forefathers paid the ultimate price to preserve ours and give us what we have today.. Freedom, Democracy and our Civil Liberties.

There is nothing we can do to stop them apart from hunting them down unwaveringly, in anticipation they go underground and stay where they belong, we certainly cannot reason with Islamic fundamentalists who believe they are fighting decadent Westerners and apostate Muslims to establish God’s rule (definitely not the God of the Jews, Christians Buddhist and other religious believes) on earth in a war that may take centuries not decades.

We must not forget what the Taliban did to other religious groups in Afghanistan and how they destroyed the religious symbols of all other religions. Let’s always keep in mind how the Saudi’s neo-Wahabi’s religious Police forbid the handling of any religious materials (Bible, Torah...etc) other than Islamic materials within the Borders of the Kingdom.

We no longer hear the guff about terrorism being caused by poverty as much as we did immediately after September 11, but people who still think we can appease the terrorists should consider the latest terrorist attacks. People who will use child to murder other children as part of struggle to destroy other societies and collective values that doesn’t have Muslim rules and impose religious rule throughout the "Muslim" world are interested in winning, not negotiating. That fundamentalist has no hope of ever taking power through the ballot box.

This means we have no option but to stand firm and not be swayed from prosecuting the war on terror on all fronts - Iraq included. In Washington Richard Clarke, a former counter-intelligence chief, testified that the Bush administration was obsessed with Saddam Hussein and underestimated the threat from Osama Bin laden’s Al Quaeda organization before September 11. His old colleague, former CIA Director George Tenet denied it. If Mr. Clarke is right it was a grievous operational failing. But this doesn’t mean the USA should now lose sight of the need to fight terrorism on all fronts. To abandon the Iraqi people to the terrorists, who are now desperate to reduce Iraq to anarchy, it would be deja-vu all over again like what happened to Lebanon in the 80’s. Focusing only on the Hunt for Bin Laden in Afghanistan would be like the US ignoring Hitler’s Germany and only fighting in the Pacific because it was surprised by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor.

To defeat Islamic terror the US and its allies must defend Iraq and revive democracy in Lebanon by delivering Lebanon form the Syrian Baathist occupation the Godfather of terrorism as well as nurturing democracy in the region. Iraq and Lebanon will light the pathway to democracy and freedom in the Middle Eastern region. Every day passes in appeasement to the Evil Empire (Syria) is another day of agony to humanity, yesterday the news talked about terror alerts in Jordan? Car bombs dispatched from Damascus to another brotherly Arab neighbor - Amman. The sanctions voted on in both political houses in the US marked with the seal of approval by the US president must be implemented YESTERDAY; otherwise everyday slip away without punishment it means another tragedy courtesy of the Baathist regime in Syria.

Australia’s Labor Leader Mark Latham talks of bringing the Australian troops home (as the Spanish did before him) from Iraq to defend their countries and save them the pain. What these new breed of liberal hearted politicians does not get is that the war on terror, conventional borders and battle-lines are meaningless. Mr. Latham if you believe withdrawing your troops from Iraq would make your home country safe, please think again! Because what Baghdad symbolize today and Beirut did yesterday represent the front lines in the war declared on the neo-Wahabism.

LET’S NOT HAVE ANOTHER REPEAT OF BEIRUT!?
