Below is the composition of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Next to each name
is the status of their support of the Syria Accountability Act. As you can see, even with
33% of all senators having co-sponsored the bill, we have only 16% (3/19) of those
senators who are on the Foreign Relations Committee. The Committee will be the bill's
first test before it goes to a vote on the floor of the senate. We need to target 7 more
co-sponsors from the list to reach 10/19 (52%) of the committee members.
In the New England area, we are talking and pressing Senator Kerry, and plan to call on
Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island and Christopher Dodd of Connecticut. Our best bet right now
are the democrats since the White House opposes the bill (which is why none of the
Republican senators on the committee have co-sponsored the bill). We need an effort from
our republican friends (Patrick?). Below the list are all the information you need to
contact the Foreign Relations Committee members. Send an e-mail, call, or fax a few lines
to keep the pressure. Let's focus on the Senate, in particular the Foreign Relations
Committee, all next week. ---
