Hezbollah; a Rebel with No Cause

The most damaging consequence of the Syrian occupation is the mental damage 30 years of Syrian/Iranian indoctrination has caused to some Lebanese minds. For decades, generations of Hezbollah’s followers were taught to chant one mantra; “Praise to Syria and Iran, and curse to Israel”. The systematic brainwashing was based on astonishing historical fabrications totally unrelated to reality. The Syrian occupation and the Iranian mullahs managed to impoverish the Lebanese and then give them handouts through Hezbollah’s social work so that they can win their hearts and minds. Of course only a few Lebanese fell to this mental disease, but the damage is done nonetheless. We have inherited a misguided generation, and a delusional fanatic named Hassan Nasrallah along with hordes of his suicide squads.

The list of lies and mental delusions from which Hizbollah’s constituency suffers is long, but the sake of brevity we shall list a few:

Illusion: Israel is an aggressor occupying and coveting Lebanese lands

Reality: Lebanon attacked Israel in 1948 along with 5 Arab armies in violation of the UN resolution partitioning Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. Israel did not attack Lebanon in 1956 (the Suez war), nor in 1967 (the Six Days war), nor in 1973 (the Yom Kippur war). Israel only acted in self defense since 1973 and defended itself against Palestinian guerilla attacks launched from Lebanese soil (due to infiltrations from Syria). Israeli retaliation culminated with major invasions to clear the guerillas strongholds, and ended with the occupation of the southern strip when Lebanon failed on numerous occasions as required by the 1948 armistice treaty and international law, to police its border. Lebanon was too busy facing ongoing Syrian aggression and sabotage.

In addition Israel has fully withdrawn from all Lebanese territory 5 years ago and the United Nations has certified the withdrawal as complete. Despite that fact, Hezbollah, supported by the Syrian dictatorship and the Iranian Mullahs, continues its proxy war against Israel in Shebaa farms, an area of the Golan occupied first by Syria in the fifties, then captured from Syria by Israel during the 1967 war. This area was designated by the United Nations as part of the Syrian Golan falling under UN resolution 242, and not as Lebanese territory.

Illusion: Lebanon must maintain the state of war with Israel until all Arab lands are liberated

Reality: So why not go and liberate occupied Arab land. We can point you to the Syrian Golan from the Syrian front, as well as Gaza. We have no occupied land in Lebanon and no need for your services. Why should we maintain a state of war with a neighbor that has declared publicly it has no designs over our country and is publicly seeking a peace treaty with us? The normal state of affairs between nations should be peace not war. We Lebanese have been denied knowing the Israelis for 57 years. How could anyone hate, or consider a neighboring nation an enemy, when our generation has not even met? The Hezbollah followers are quite twisted on this point thanks to years of Iranian and Syria brainwashing.

Illusion: Hezbollah defends Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence from Israeli aggression. Hezbollah is a deterrent force.

Reality: What Israeli aggression? So the whole world is wrong and Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah are right? Hezbollah is not defending Lebanese land, it rather is an instrument in the hands of the Syrian occupiers to maintain their occupation of Lebanon and further their own objectives in their proxy war against Israel. The worst mental damage is that Hezbollah followers may truly believe that they are a deterrent to Israel. They forget that Israel’s military strength is 1/3 of NATO. Its air force is larger than France and England combined and it sits on 200 atomic bombs. Only 2000 Israeli soldiers faced 25,000 Hezbollah fighters in fixed defensive positions in south Lebanon for 22 years. Hezbollah thinks it has defeated the Israeli army, but it has not yet tasted its might. Hezbollah is not defending Lebanon, it is endangering us just to serve its masters in Damascus and Teheran, and that is Criminal!

Illusion: Hezbollah professes gratitude to Syria

Reality: To support a foreign power that has slaughtered your co-citizens is not an honorable act. Honoring a murderer and oppressor is madness. If Hezbollah would like us Lebanese to thank Syria, than we would like Hezbollah to thank Israel in exchange.

Illusion: Hezbollah is a resistance movement

Reality: Hezbollah is responsible for the kidnapping of western hostages in the eighties and numerous terrorist attacks in Lebanon and the world (Argentina). Its areas of influence are the heartland of hash and opium plantations. It is a state within a state. A militia which directly intimidates Lebanese citizens and ethnic groups. It is fighting a meaningless and wasteful war for no purpose but to serve Syrian and Iranian policies. A war that drains our economy, forces our young into exodus, and impoverishes our people. A war against an imaginary “enemy” which has already withdrawn from our land and even offered to make peace. Hezbollah pledges greater allegiance to Syria and Iran than to Lebanon. It is not a resistance it is an ideological mercenary army. A whore that sells its soul to damnation and to the forces of the Dark. A cult of misguided suicidal fanatics brainwashed by the Mullahs of Iran. A band of murderers who insist on spilling blood even when a hand of peace is presented to them. Hezbollah’s leader Nasrallah has just declared that the militia will not lay down its arms even after the end of the state of war with Israel. Resistance? No, that is a Mafia behavior.

Illusion: Israel is a racist state and does not accept a multi-ethnic Lebanon next to it

Reality: What Arab nation has treated its ethnicities with decency and equality? The Israeli Palestinians, i.e. the Arab citizens of Israel are treated better than any Palestinian group in any Arab nation. They have members of parliament and enjoy all public rights that an Israeli citizen does except holding high and sensitive state positions.

Racism in the Arab world is more rampant where minorities are ruling majorities, such as the 12% Alawite Assad rule in Syria ruling over the other 88% non Alawite Syrians.

The Discrimination against and persecution of the Copts in Egypt. The economic and demographic ethnic cleansing of Lebanon by the Syrian Baath dictatorship. The massacres against the Palestinians by their own Arab brothers such as the killing of 20,000 Palestinians in Jordan in 1970 Black September. The Syrian massacre of the Palestinians in the Lebanese cities of Saida and Tripoli. The expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from Kuwait after its liberation. The historical persecution of the Kurds in Syria/Turkey/Iran/Iraq. The discrimination against the Berbers in Algeria, the Christians in Saudi Arabia, to name a few.

Illusion: Israel has designs over the Litani water

Reality: Water is our “oil”, why not sell it to our neighbors and lift our economy.

Conclusion

The Lebanese people have been undergoing a political brainwashing since 1990, the date of the total Syrian occupation. The Shiite Lebanese however, have been under severe indoctrination for 23 years (since 1982) because their areas were under Syrian/Iranian control ever since. In addition, and for 57 years (since 1948), we have been denied the right to know our Israeli neighbors. To interact with them. To discover their culture, their traditions, and their civilization. For 57 years, we have been channeled into a single way of thinking conditioned by the Arab-Israeli conflict. Now is the time to break the shackles of indoctrination, illusions, and false ideologies which were imposed upon us by a retarded and delusional Arab world. It will take a lot of work to heal the enormous mental damage than Iran and Syria caused unto Hezbollah’s followers. But we insist on saving every last one of our citizens, those who still wants to be saved of course, and give them a chance in our upcoming new society. As to the rest, I will address that in an upcoming editorial.

Nasrallah has two options: Disarm and join the Lebanese civil society, or, face annihilation. We prefer the first option, but will support the second if we must.

Long Live Free Lebanon
