Adnan Addoum: The Syrian Executioner General

The Syrian agent Adnan Addoum, Lebanon’s "Prosecutor" General, accuses Prime Minister Aoun of, among other charges, "defaming the dignity of the State and national pride", "endangering Lebanon with hostile acts", "disturbing Lebanon’s relations with a foreign country", and "impersonating the role of Prime Minister".

On the charge of "defaming the dignity…" we can only say that Lebanon has had no dignity since Mr. Addoum’s gang of Syrian agents began their rule in 1990, pillaging its treasury, impoverishing its people, and worst of all surrendering it all - land, people, and decision-making - to the Syrian occupier.

As to the "endangering Lebanon…" accusation, Mr. Addoum, in his Baathist double-speak, does not really mean Lebanon-the-nation, but the vulgar tyranny he calls the "Lebanese State" which the Syrian regime cloned in Beirut with puppets like him in order to rule Lebanon, drain it of every drop of decency and civility, and pilfer its resources to amass huge personal fortunes while the people starve and emigrate. The Syrian agent Addoum has every right to fear for his rule because unlike his phony and Kafkaesque accusations against PM Aoun, the accusations he will soon face will surely put him away for a long time.

Mr. Addoum’s charge against PM Aoun of "disturbing relations with a foreign country" is absolutely moot because those relations don’t even qualify as such. Lebanon is a mere satellite state forfeiting all of the attributes of a sovereign state, including foreign relations and human rights protections, to the gangsters of the Syrian Intelligence Services - the Mukhabaraat - in Anjar in the Bekaa Valley. With the mass graves recently unearthed in Iraq, all filled with thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians by the same Baathist thugs, one wonders what kind of relations with Syria should Mr. Addoum and the Lebanese people be protecting? Is Mr. Addoum referring to relations with the tormentors, kidnappers, murderers, thieves, rapists of the Lebanese people, and a Syrian army of occupation whose ultimate bravery was to shell the civilian populations of entire Lebanese cities and neighborhoods for months on end, indiscriminately killing and maiming tens of thousands of innocent Lebanese women, men, and children, while running away like rabbits for 35 years in the face of daily Israeli attacks against Lebanon? Or relations with a Syrian regime that has not fired a single bullet against the Israeli annexation of its own Golan Heights, while dispatching its hoodlum terrorist groups to the South of Lebanon supposedly to liberate a territory from which Israel has already withdrawn?

Finally, the "impersonating a Prime Minister" accusation is truly the most ironic. We find it sad that this Syrian-appointed Executioner General (Prosecutor General is too respectable for this scumbag) can be in a position to attack the legitimacy and constitutionality of PM Aoun’s government. The truth is that Mr. Addoum and the regime have themselves been "impersonating a sovereign government" since they usurped power with Syrian tanks and fighter jets, and the endorsement of the US government, to subject Lebanon to complete occupation in 1990.

These scare tactics remain nothing but acts of desperation committed by a gang of bandits who were granted power by their Syrian masters and who see their rule coming to an end. We are reminded of Ceausescu (Romania), Honecker (East Germany), Grosz (Hungary), and the other Stalinist agents ruling their Eastern European nations for the Soviet Union, and who were finally toppled in the 1989 revolutions that liberated them. The clock is ticking, Mr. Addoum, and the Beirut Wall of Terror will one day fall!
