Hezbollah Terrorist Reach outside Lebanon
Boston, Massachusetts June 8, 2003
In defending Hezbollah as a Resistance Movement when several countries now classify it as a terrorist organization, the Syrian dictatorship and its Lebanese lackeys Rafik Hariri, Emile Lahoud, Nabih Berri and Walid Jumblatt argue that Hezbollah never engaged in violent acts against civilians or outside the context of liberating south Lebanon.
As it turns out, and beyond its ample terrorist record inside Lebanon, Hezbollah is now implicated in the worst terrorist bombing in Argentinas history, namely the July 18, 1994 car bomb in Buenos Aires that left 86 dead and 200 injured civilians ten thousand miles and two oceans away from the Shebaa Farms in south Lebanon.
After years in which the government of Argentine President Carlos Menem, himself of Syrian origin and with ties to the Assad dictatorship in Syria, prevented any inquiry into the attack, the new Argentine government has recently opened the secret files in order to move the investigation forward. In a report entitled Spiritual Guidelines of Hezbollah: Attack in Argentina, the ambassador of Argentina to Lebanon in 1994, Mr. Juan Angel Faraldo, had warned his government 48 days before the attack that Hezbollah leader Mohammed Fadlallah was making references to Argentina as a possible target. Their hands could reach Argentina, Fadlallah is reported to have said in reference to his Hezbollah fighters.
Hezbollahs terrorism, racism, and religious fanaticism can no longer be hidden behind the veneer of the social welfare organization that it claims to be. By preventing the Lebanese government from sending its army to control the Lebanese-Israeli border for the past 30 years, the Syrians and their Lebanese puppets and terrorists have hijacked the responsibility for law, order, and social services in South Lebanon away from the central government in Beirut. In so doing, they have allowed Hezbollah to substitute itself under the guise of a socially responsible organization and use that cover to engage in terrorist acts against innocent Americans, Lebanese, Argentines, and others. There are thousands of Lebanese refugees in Israel today who cannot come home because of Hezbollahs reign of terror in south Lebanon.
The tragedy of South Lebanon and its people is compounded by the fact that not a single bullet has ever been fired across the Syrian-Israeli border since 1974, and there are no Syrian or Hezbollah Resistance Movements in Syria trying to liberate the occupied Golan Heights. In fact, since 1974, Syria has voted on the side of Israel every 6 months at the UN for the renewal of the mandate of the UN Observers Mission on the Golan Heights. The cowardly Baathist regime of the Assad dynasty in Damascus has all along been intent on liberating occupied Syrian territory with the blood of the Lebanese villagers of South Lebanon. With a sister like this, who needs an enemy?
